Code audit

Dev & startup terminologies, Dev process terms | Verb

the software equivalent of taking your dog to a vet check-up and being told you were sold a rabid raccoon. Code audit is a common service offered by software outsourcing companies. They take a look at your code base, blame the previous outsourcing company, and suggest improvements to make your code easier to maintain and build upon. This sometimes may imply refactoring in order to rewrite faulty logic or get rid of any redundancies. Refactoring restructures existing code without changing its behaviour and is a way of cleaning up your code base.

“Can you imagine someone more hated than Martin Shkreli? “Yeah, the people who wrote the code we're currently auditing.”
