Continuous Delivery (CD)

Dev & startup terminologies, Dev process terms | Noun

a safe way to shut clients up when the app you have been developing for the past two years crashes on Save. Continuous delivery is a software development practice aimed at reducing time to market and cutting down the time needed for deployment. The goal is to make deployment a safe, routine affair by testing and deploying as often as possible, so that new features, configuration changes or bug fixes get into production quickly and code is always in a deployable state.

“I wanted to get roses delivered to her house, but they only had tulips.” “Tell her it's called continuous delivery and follow up with the roses after you get divorced.”
