Short for “Software as a Service”, SaaS is a software licensing and delivery model in which a software vendor runs their app through a cloud service provider. The cloud provider takes care of all the necessary infrastructure for the app to run. SaaS apps are typically accessed in the browser and users usually need to pay a subscription fee. SaaS apps are integrated with other software via API and all the necessary updates and patches are provided in the app.
